Texas Association of Builders

When you join the Greater San Antonio Builders Association, you automatically become a member of the Texas Association of Builders and the National Association of Home Builders. Standardized Contracts:  TAB’s Texas Residential Construction Contracts package is available for purchase at www.texasbuilders.org. These strong contracts provide you with up-to-date provisions crafted to protect your business. Contract editions are valid from August to August of odd-numbered years and are updated after each session of the Texas Legislature. To stay current with state regulations, renew your contract purchases every two years.

Group Insurance: Associates and Builders: Bonafide Association Group insurance programs are tailor-made for GSABA members of all sizes, large or small. These plans offer great rates for you to provide to your employees as a member of the Association. The wide range of programs includes worker’s  compensation, general liability, property and casualty, commercial auto, builder’s risk, and medical and life insurance.

Government Affairs

Lobbying: TAB provides advocacy at the Texas State Capitol and with the agencies that regulate our industry, such as the Texas Residential Construction Commission.

Tracking Legislation: TAB’s professional government relations team tracks all legislation that potentially impacts the housing industry.

Regulatory Agencies: TAB Staff monitors the state agencies that regulate the residential construction industry. TAB is your guide to compliance with existing and new    government rules, regulations, and laws.

State Officials: TAB has built and maintained relationships with elected officials and regulatory agency personnel whose opinions and decisions directly affect our industry.

Rally Day: A state-wide event that occurs every two years during the regular legislative sessions. On Rally Day, TAB members from all over Texas visit their state representatives  and senators at the Texas Capitol to offer a unified message to our elected officials.

Protecting Your Interests

HOMEPAC: TAB’s political action committee, HOMEPAC, is the only group whose sole mission is to guard your interests on a state level. A strong PAC ensures legislative lobbying power to protect against legislation that negatively affects our industry.

Events

Sunbelt Builders Show™: TAB’s annual award-winning Sunbelt Builders Show™ is the premier regional building industry trade show. Registration is open to all industry professionals looking to market to TAB Builder and Associate members.  The Sunbelt Builders Show™, attendees can learn the latest in building technologies and products from over 300 exhibitors, attend dozens of educational conferences, network with industry professionals and be part of the Star Awards and the Excellence in Leadership Dinner.


National Association of Home Builders

Member Driven: Over 2800 Members from around the country serve on NAHB’s Board of Directors and set the goals and agendas of the Federation of more than 800 local HBA’s, including the Greater San Antonio Builders Association.

Government and Policy: NAHB’s various groups analyze policy issues, take the industry’s story to the public through the media and other outlets, monitor and work toward improving the housing finance system, analyze and forecast economic and consumer trends, and educate, train and disseminate information to members. The association also represents the industry’s interests on Capitol Hill and strives to ensure that housing remains a national priority when laws are made and policies are established.

Regulatory Agencies: NAHB works with federal agencies on regulations affecting the housing industry in areas such as mortgage finance, codes, energy and the environment.

Business Advocacy: The Association strives to shape decisions of the courts, by becoming involved in litigation on land development, environmental, and construction liability matters, such that laws and regulations may be interpreted favorably for the housing industry.

Relevancy: NAHB’s builder members construct about 80 percent of the new homes constructed each year in the United States.

International Builders’ Show: NAHB’s Annual Convention and Exposition, known as the International Builders’ Show, is one of the largest homebuilding conventions in the country. We hope to see you in 2016.

Industry Research: Affiliates of NAHB include the NAHB Research Center, which develops, tests and evaluates new materials, methods, standards and equipment in improving technology and the affordability of America’s housing. It also works on transforming the Home Builders Institute, NAHB’s workforce development arm, which develops and administers a wide range of educational and job training programs.

Online Resources: The online home of the NAHB (www.nahb.org), is full of resources for all types of members. Providing a variety of topics including; Accounting, Finance Management, Strategic Planning, Technology, Customer Service, Human Resources, Marketing, Advertising, Sales, Operations Management, Business Regulation, and more, the NAHB website is the perfect online resource.
